Best curry leaves for hair recipe

Curry leaves for hair has almost become the norm in Asia.

When you look at Asian women, especially the ones based in India, you can only be jealous.

They have long and very strong hair. We can only be somehow jealous.

But the secret behind this is not that difficult.

Asian women use ancient curry-leaves for hair recipes which we are going to provide you with.

Why do we lose our hair?

One of the biggest issues that men and women are facing is hair loss.

Hair loss affects you directly, both physically and mentally.

And hair loss is mainly known as a hair follicle health condition.

Weird enough, it is mainly men that are affected.

But the trend is now changing. Many women are now losing their hair and are victims of a hair follicle.

Some say that we inherit this condition from our parents (especially our dad).

But in the vast majority of the time, this is untrue.

The condition is usually due to outside factors. For instance, on major factor is pollution.

Another factor is oily scalp without forgetting the usual bad food nutrition we experience in the west.

But there is another hidden factor that we all undermine.

It is the heavy use of chemical products on your body (shampoo, perfume, etc.), clothes (washing machine powder, etc.) and in your surroundings (such as paint on your walls which emits chemicals too – though at particle levels, these are harmful to you).

All of the above means that our bodies and hair are being bombarded with dangerous substances on a daily basis.

And that is in addition to the stress that we all are experiencing.

When you look closer to your scalp, you’ll find that you have plenty of clogged follicles.

These leave your scalp irritated. In turn, this causes itching, dandruff and subsequently hair fall.

Why curry leaves and hair make a good combination?

Curry leaves are simply rich in antioxidants.

When applied, they moisturize your scalp and heal it.

By doing so, the curry support getting rid of dead hair follicles.

And that antioxidant property is what you should be looking for as it treats your hair problems.

That is that particular property that provides your hair with essential nutrients.

The nutrients are definitely required for the growth of your hair.

In summary, the leaves are rich in antioxidants and amino acids. Both of these reduce hair fall and stimulate hair growth.

Studies have shown that the antioxidants and acids prevent the hair strands from thinning and at the same time strengthen hair follicles.

But I like the other properties of curry leaves too.

The leaves are a rich source of beta-carotene and contain plenty of good proteins.

So the beta-carotene reduces hair loss.

And the proteins prevent hair thinning.

What are the uses of curry leaves for hair?

There are many uses of curry leaves for hair growth but also for healthy hair. Here are some of its uses:

1- Curry leaves benefits grey hair

This is a very interesting one.

We have all seen Asian with little or no grey hair. And we wonder why.

The reason is fairly simple. They eat curry and they use curry leaves for hair growth.

But they also use the leaves to prevent premature hair greying.

They even use curry leaves for white hair. So, if you have this condition and want to change it, you may well consider the below recipe.

1.1 – How to use curry leaves for grey hair?

It is the simplest method and recipe I have ever seen for avoiding grey hair.

You just need to combine curry leaves along with hair oil and apply this mixture to your scalp.

And this is backed by science and research (1). But let’s get straight to the preparation of the recipe for this curry leaves and grey hair recipe.

This is how to make curry leaves hair oil:

For this recipe, you need to heat pure or virgin oil. Please heat up the oil and do not boil it.

As the oil heats up, add one handful of fresh curry leaves to it.

Now, for your curry leaves for hair graying to be work effectively, you really need to add good quality leaves.

One tip I can give you about this particular point is to keep your curry leaves (previously washed)in a completely dried form.

The reason you want them completely dried is so as they soak in oil.

As soon as you mix the leaves with the oil, they will start to turn into a green color.

Your curry leaves for grey hair (and not curry leaves for gray hair like some people write it) is now ready to be used.

Just wait till the mixture cools down a bit. Then apply it to your hair for 15 to 20 minutes. The mixture should be warm and not hot. Like this, you do not burn your hair and scalp. Please take extra care during this phase.

You should do this twice a week.

I want to make sure that you get this right. For the curry leaves oil for grey hair to work, you must apply it twice a week.

Also, you must not use an aggressive type of shampoo when you rinse your hair.

1.2-  Eating curry leaves for grey hair

There is another method that people use to address this condition. I would call it ‘eating curry leaves for grey hair’.

This is an effective method too. But the problem is that it is slower than the one I described above.

The only thing you have to do is to eat curry as much as you can. That is all. As I said, it will take several months for you to see any results.

2- Does curry leaves help hair growth?

This has been scientifically proven. And YES, curry leaves help hair growth. (2)

You just need to take a couple of curry leaves. Crush them into small pieces.

Now, take yogurt and mix it with the leaves powder.

You’ll end up with a nice paste. This is your hair mask.

You take your paste and apply it on your hair.

Wait for about 20 minutes.

When done, you just need to wash your hair with water.

Please use warm and not hot water.

You can use shampoo too to wash your hair.

I would advise you to use the curry leaves and hair growth mask twice a week.

This will rejuvenate your hair follicles. It will then promote the growth of new hair. Here is a video that shows you how to prepare and apply the mixture. Apologies for the sound. It is not the best one.

Note that this is not a quick-fix solution and that there is no quick-fix solution for your hair.

So, you need a bit of patience to get real results. It may take up to 6 months before you start seeing real results.

This is dependent on your hair conditions. If you have lost your hair a long time ago, then you really need to arm yourselves with patience as your scalp needs time to recover.

On the other hand, if you are just starting losing your hair, then you should be able to recover much quicker with the above curry leaves hair growth recipe.

3- Repairs damaged roots

I think this is something that you have experienced in the past. You wake up in the morning and see that your hair is damaged. And you can see it in the mirror. Worse your wife (or husband) sees it and makes a joke.

That’s it, you are having none of it and do not want to speak to him/her for the day.

Note that I have been there, so I speak from experience.

The funny bit is that’s where we start panicking. We buy creams, use more shampoo, etc.

But the problem is that our hair gets even more damaged with these creams and shampoos.

So what to do? Maybe you need to use a healthy and natural solution.

In addition to these, there are many more reasons for these annoying damages.

For instance, your hair is definitely affected by your stress levels. The higher the stress, the more your hair will fall, get grey or even white.

This is where curry leaves can do real magical wonders. As the leaves are full of essential nutrients, they can be used to repair damaged roots. And they can do that very effectively. (3)

The best method I found for this is to apply them directly onto the scalp.

Just do the same thing as in the previous section. Take a couple of leaves, crush them, then apply them to your scalp.

You can even use the yogurt recipe above. Or even better, use the oil recipe.

In essence, the curry leaves will act as a first aid kit for your hair.

By applying the curry, you’ll get stronger hair and this will also support your hair growth.

I want to add the below word of caution.

3-1 What can damage your hair?

Your hair can also get damaged by the use of bad shampoos. These are full of bad chemicals, so best to stay away from cheap shampoos.

Think of it, you buy shampoo once every two months. And it may only cost you $10 to buy a really good one.

It is not even 30 cents per day. So why would even consider buying a cheap, dangerous, full of bad chemicals shampoo?

You need to get something of high quality as your hair is your personality. So look for something in the medium range price that does not kill your hair. That’s y advice.

I want to tell you that pollution is also one of the reasons why your hair weakens. Protect your hair from this too.

4- Curry leaves for hair fall

You can use dry curry leaves for hair fall. (4)

What you just need to is to take 2-3 curry leaves. Crush them and add mix the powder with a few drops of milk.

Now apply the paste to your hair and scalp.

Leave it for about half an hour.

Now, wash your hair with lukewarm water (use shampoo if necessary).

This is how to use curry leaves for hair loss. You must repeat this process regularly.

5- Rejuvenation of your hair follicles

I have already discussed this above.

Your hair follicle is probably one of the most important parts of your hair health. And you may have well underestimated the role follicles play in having a nice, healthy, shiny hair.

Unfortunately, if you are losing your hair, this may mean that you have not provided enough nutrients to your follicles.

And in this case, you’ll definitely end up damaging your hair.

Scientists have demonstrated that the use of curry leaves for hair can reduce and prevent damages you cause to your hair. (5) The reason behind this is simple. It is an excellent source of nutrients.

As such, it is an effective plant that strengthens your follicles, which in turn strengthens your hair.

Again, you can use the above yogurt or oil recipes to support your follicles rejuvenation.

6- Strengthening of hair shafts

I am unsure if you have heard of hair shafts.

Simply put, a hair shaft is a section of your hair above the scalp. (6)

And if this part of your hair is damaged, then your hair will suffer and end up falling through time.

This is where you can curry leaves for hair loss.

The leaves contain a high quantity of Vitamin B6.

And B6s act as hormone regulators when it comes to hair loss.

Eating curry leaves benefits your hair both in terms of strengthening the roots and providing the essential vitamins to your hair shafts.

Curry leaves hair treatment recipes

There are a number of ways you can use curry leaves for hair benefits. For instance, you can use the above recipes or the below ones to support your hair growth, strength, and color.

1- Curry leaves tea for hair recipe

This is fairly easy. You just need to buy some curry leaves.

Now boil them in water.

I would advise you to squeeze a small lime.

Add some sugar to it (brown please). Or if you have access to honey (the real one), then add one full spoon.

The idea is to drink at least one cup of tea on a daily basis.

You should aim for 1 week (7days) minimum period.

By doing you’ll increase hair growth. You’ll also have some nice side effects such as making your hair smooth, shiny and prevent white hairs.

After a couple of weeks, I do not think you’ll be asking yourselves the question: is curry leaves good for hair? You’ll be completely sold to curry leaves.

What is important to note is that the intake of curry leaves is good for your digestive system.

So, by just drinking curry tea, you’ll be resolving digestive problems and many of your hair problems.

2- Are curry leaves good for hair tonic?

The answer is yes. You just need to use the below highly effective recipe and you should see some good results in a number of weeks.

Curry leaf for hair tonic ingredients:

  • Take a handful of curry leaves
  • A cup of lukewarm water (as I said it, water must be warm and not hot)

How to prepare curry leaves oil for hair tonic?

Pour lukewarm water in a bowl.

Now drop 2-3 curry leaves in it.

Mix the lot vigorously until the leaves become soft.

If you manage to get soft leaves, then the water will turn greenish in color.

Wait till the water cool down.

When the tonic curry mixture is cold, apply it to your scalp.

Perform a slow and gentle massage to your scalp for about 10-15 minutes.

Rinse your hair. You can even wash them with a good quality shampoo.

Repeat the procedure twice a week if you can.

3- Curry leaves hair mask

I have already discussed this recipe above but wanted to make you capture it as one of the most important recipes.

You just need to mix yogurt with a couple of curry leaves.

For optimum effect, you need to grind the leaves first. And then you mix the powder with the yogurt.

I provided you with a video above. So please use it for your hair benefit.

4- Coconut oil and curry leaves for hair

Curry leaves in coconut oil for hair is an ancient Asian recipe that has gone through the centuries and is to date still a fantastic remedy to cure your hair.

It has been documented as the most effective way to improve hair growth.

As soon as you apply the coconut oil and curry leaves for hair growth to your scalp, the nutrients found in the leaves will penetrate in (a) your hair, (b) your follicles,  (c) your shafts, (d) your roots, and (e) your scalp.

No wonder why this recipe is highly effective.

4-1 Coconut oil with curry leaves for hair ingredients

  • 1  cup of coconut oil
  • 1 handful of curry leaves (say 4  to 5 leaves)

4-2 How to prepare hair oil with curry leaves?

This is how to make curry leaves oil for hair.

Take a small bowl. Now pour the coconut oil to it and add the curry leaves.

Place the bowl in a pan filled with water and heat up the water.

When the oil heats up, you should see a little black residue forming.

Leave the mixture cool down.

When it is cold, apply the residue to your hair and scalp.

For the best result, you should aim to apply the residue about twice a week.

The above recipe is also known as the curry leaves gray hair. This is because it reduces and prevents the formation of gray hair.

Note that you need to gently massage your hair and scalp when you apply the oily mixture.

This will allow the oil to stick on your hair.

Make sure that you leave the mixture for a minimum of 45 minutes.

When done, just wash your hair with lukewarm water. And again, you may want to use some shampoo too, but aim for a non too chemically-based shampoo.
