Do you plan to prevent and fight cancer? Then I have got some means for you below.
I have heard this sentence millions of times, and still, I keep hearing. So much so that I decided to hang a post-it on my fridge. Every time I open it, I see it and guess what it works.
See the sentence is:
“You are what you eat.”
Well, this is true.
Every time you eat, the food you put in your mouth can be beneficial to you or really harmful.
Food can have a huge impact on your body. Not only how you feel but also on how your body functions – At times, it is even better to say that ‘WHAT YOU EAT MAKES YOUR BODY DYSFUNCTION’ – Which leads to many diseases, body unease, and to the doctor.
Focusing on cancer, there are many different plants, ingredients that can help you prevent it. Eating these can help you feel better about yourselves and allow you to prevent not only cancer but many other body issues.
I have highlighted in the past many fruits and vegetables, but at no time I have summarized so many fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and herbs in a single article. I feel this is the right time for this.
1. Fight Cancer With Carrots
Carrots are full of antioxidant known as beta-carotene. These help to protect your cell membranes. By doing so, they stop the cells from being affected by dangerous toxins. Eat more carrots is my advice.
2. Beans – The Darker The Better
Phytochemicals and fiber within beans are what make them prevent cancer cell reproduction. When you eat beans, they have the ability to slow down the division of cancer cells.
At the same time, they have this unique feature where they can slow down the growth of tumors.
Beans have other properties that you may want to know off such as Phytic acid, folate, protease inhibitors, and saponins. They are many more properties, but you can see that British people eating a daily portion of beans during their breakfast make sense.
3. Cruciferous Vegetables
I can tell you that I witnessed this. A friend of mine did her Ph.D. on these vegetables and she demonstrated that they have the ability to fight cancer. They are probably the most important vegetables to fight cancer.
These are Broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, kale, and collard greens.
They are known for being part of the cruciferous vegetable family.
You may ask why are these veggies so good against cancer?
Well, they contain something called sulforaphane and indole carbinols. These properties assist in detoxifying your body.
When you detox your body, you basically get rid of all of the bad stuff. This includes precancerous cells that are usually not detectable.
4. Black Seed Oil Against Cancer
Black seed oil is better known in many countries as black cumin.
They are usually used to strengthen unhealthy immune systems. But they can also be used to stabilize these.
What I want you to know is that a lot of research has been conducted in this seed. They have shown that patients with pancreatic cancer eating black seeds have a great recovery.
It was shown that as much as 80% of cancer cells are being killed using black cumin seeds.
5. Increase Garlic Intake
Many of us avoid garlic. Yes, it has some strong smell. And yes I would not advise you to be near me when I eat this fantastic ingredient.
I usually eat it over the weekend when I do not have meetings. And the whole family eats it so I do not receive complains.
Branded as a smelly food by many, garlic properties areas of today not been matched by any other veggie. Why deprive yourselves of such a fantastic cancer solution?
The bits that make garlic smelly are also the bits that can save your life.
What do these bits do?
First, they are not bits, but more like compounds. They generate a strong smell. But they also speed up your body. And the speed is not what you may think of.
The speed is related to your body’s ability to repair its DNA. If you increase the speed of DNA recovery, then you’ll definitely kill cancer cells. Not bad for a smelly compound.
I am sure that you have guessed this. I have already spoken about some of these vegetables before in Omigy. Of similar features to garlic, you can find chives, shallots, and onions. Their unique anti-inflammatory properties will work wonders on your body.
It is said that if you mix these, then you feel full of energy and really healthy.
6. Ginger – My favorite
I simply love ginger. I was introduced to ginger by a friend of mine over 20 years ago. She always said the ginger had superb properties that could help my body. But she never was able to tell me what these were. This is where I decided to investigate.
Yes, it’s spicy and tangy. Sometimes people may have a love-hate relationship with ginger.
But you cannot say that it does not have some fantastic medicinal properties.
Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that are responsible for slowing down cancer cell growth.
These same properties are responsible for curing migraines, dizziness, and nausea.
Ginger has been studied for many years and it was shown that it is highly effective in addressing ovarian cancer.
7. Green / Red / Black Grapes
Any type of grapes is good for you.
Grapes contain resveratrol. If you do not know what this does, then it simply reduces inflammation in most cases.
Resveratrol is also really good at fighting free radicals. In chemistry, a radical is an atom, molecule, or ion. It has unpaired valence electrons. With some exceptions, these unpaired electrons make free radicals highly chemically reactive towards other substances, or even towards themselves. This is not good for you.
Grapes are really good at fighting against high cholesterol. But if you have blood sugar issues, then avoid this fruit.
Other fruits have similar properties to grapes such as blueberries, cranberries, and pomegranates (I’ll speak a bit more about pomegranates below).
8. Green Tea
The virtues of green tea have long been discussed. But I find many people not know them.
Just one cup of green tea can do wonders to your body. If you snip once a day in a cup of green tea you will provide your body with polyphenols and catechins. Both of these fight cancer cell growth (and they fight it actively).
What is good about green tea is that you can enjoy drinking it, and at the same time it will detoxify your liver, shrinking cancerous tumors and makes you feel better.
9. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is usually free in the summer, but people tend to avoid the sun. Yes, I would agree with many of you that you need to avoid excessive exposure to sunshine (you can get burnt – unpleasant but dangerous too!).
However, vitamin D is good against cancer.
Unfortunately, we do not have much of it in the winter.
One cannot really replace the sun but can supplement vitamin D with some great foods. Examples are cheese, ice cream (in winter?), green vegetables, and milk.
Note that vitamin D can boost your immune system. It can also prevent breast cancer and dreadful winter depression.
10. Pomegranate
I have a tree in my back garden. And I cherish this tree for what it does.
Pomegranates help to dramatically slow prostate cancer. They are full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
So they can help you in combating cancer, but it also has properties to keep your skin look young. Now you understand why I like them so much!
I usually make my own pomegranate juice every morning. You certainly can buy the juice from any supermarket, but I would advise you to get the 100% pure pomegranate juice.
11. Sea Vegetables
I was not aware of these till I went to Asia.
Every time I at a new sea vegetable, I was given a lesson with their health benefits.
I selected a few for you such as arame, nori, kombu, hijiki, and kelp.
These are all rich in vitamin B. They contain calcium, beta-carotene, iron and many other healing properties (to tell you the truth, I cannot remember all of the properties, but the one I highlighted are the most important ones).
Eating sea vegetables will help boost T-cell production. T-cells are so important to us as their essential role is for disease prevention. So start eating sea vegetables. And I can tell you they are tasty.
12. Turmeric
Again, I spoke about turmeric here. It is one of the most well known Middle Eastern and Asian spices.
It contains curcumin. This spice is one of the world’s most powerful antioxidants.
Unfortunately, turmeric is a little strong in taste. But I have to say that you get used to it.
And what’s best to combat cancer than a powerful antioxidant?
Anyway, if you are still not able to eat it, then get it in capsules. Click here and get it.
13. Tomatoes
My dad has always told me that tomato is the king’s fruit. I never understood why, but dad loves tomatoes. He has all types. Green, red, orange, yellow, small, big, etc. His garden is always full of these.
But as I got more interest in them, I found out that tomatoes have a high content in lycopene, a very strong antioxidant.
Research has demonstrated that tomatoes are really good for lower levels of prostate cancer. They are also good for other types of cancers, but still, the research did not fully demonstrate this, so I tend not to discuss these.
14. Strawberries
Vitamin C and ellagic acid are what make strawberries great. They both supercharge your body.
Strawberries are succulent and are loved by many. By eating them you help slow tumor growth and have a great dessert to eat.
Note that you need to find strawberries that are not full of chemicals. Many large companies are spraying chemicals on strawberries. These chemicals are highly carcinogenic. Try and avoid these. You just need to look for organic strawberries.
15. Spinach
Spinaches are full of lutein and zeaxanthin. These help your body flush unstable molecules. They also help get rid of free radicals.
If you are like me and you eat a lot of spinach produce, then you are less likely to develop lung, endometrial and ovarian cancer.
Couple of words to end this lengthy article
