Leading world scientists signed a so-called “Madrid Document” at a symposium, with a mutual statement in which they warn the entire humanity how worried they are about the more and more wider use of poly- and Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFFASs) in the households.
These chemicals are used for manufacturing metal food containers and vessels for storing food ( as for example, the packing for fast food and the “strengthened” plastic or paper plates), and are characterized by the so-called “ non-sticky cover” which prevents the food from burning or sticking to the bottom.
Unfortunately, these toxins are not only present in the food which is cooked or stored into them, but, also, under the influence of heat, they easily spread in the air, the water for drinking, the soil and they poison the entire environment.
In an article published in the magazine “Environmental Health Perspectives,” scientists call upon manufacturers of food preparation containers to stop using PFASs chemicals, especially since today there are numerous other alternatives for manufacturing such vessels in which the food will not burn.
Moreover, this is a piece of very clear advice for all housewives: if you see the above-mentioned signs on the food containers which you use, get rid of them once and for all!
