It is not always safe to use commercial cosmetic products. Some of them are very harmful.
On this list of popular, but harmful products is Axe.
Axe and the Real Effect
Axe has a really good commercial, but that is not our concern in this article.
Our concern should be a number of endocrine disruptors that Axe contains. These chemicals imitate the function of hormones and confuse the body.
In a statement, the Endocrine Society issued that endocrine disruptors affect the male and female reproduction, breast cancer, prostate cancer, thyroid, cardiovascular endocrinology, neuroendocrinology, obesity and metabolism.
Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly
This antiperspirant is one of the active ingredients that Axe contains. It provides 24 h. protection. Our skin very easily absorbs aluminum ions. Accumulations of these ions, with time, can cause kidney damage, breast cancer, nerve damage and Alzheimer’s.
This ingredient is responsible for the foam in Axe products. Cocamidopropyl Betaine connects with other chemicals and it produces nitrosamines that are carcinogenic. Actually, they are responsible for 40 types of cancer found in humans and animals.
PPG-14 Bustyl Ether
If our underarms are always dry, which is unnatural, there is an accumulation of static cling. This ingredient produces an environment that is less clingy. It is a paraben, found in 99% of tissues in people with breast cancer.
This ingredient actually makes Axe products to smell less rancid. BHT is an antimicrobial preservative that is easily absorbed by the body. Inside the body, it harms the organs and cause cancer and reproductive toxicity.
